By doing this together we will be able to ensure that people will be able to access the care and support they need on a sustainable basis.
In order to do that we have taken a close look at the services already being offered and how they are funded and also different ways that we may be able to provide those services in future. We also sought to hear the views of those people, from the public, private and voluntary sectors, who are currently delivering those services and also from those receiving that care plus people who care for family members and their family and friends. It was important that we heard as many views as possible from the wider community because the policies developed as a result of this strategy are likely to touch the lives of most of us at some point.
The results of the consultation were published with the Policy Letter that was debated by the States in February 2016 (see Billet III volume II).. The recommendations were endorsed (see full list of resolutions in the document [101kb]) and a Supported Living and Ageing Well Strategy Supervisory Group has since been formed to oversee the work of the Strategy going forward.
