The States' Trading Supervisory Board (STSB) is looking for experienced business leaders who can bring additional commercial expertise at board level.
Established in 2016, to bring together all the States' trading operations, the STSB oversees a diverse portfolio of trading activities, with combined assets of more than £600 million and annual turnover of more than £200m. An airline, two airports, electricity supply, postal services, waste management, dairy production, commercial harbours, marine leisure facilities, water and wastewater services, a lottery, property management, and ownership of fuel supply ships.
We are looking to recruit advisers to join the company boards of our different trading assets. These include Guernsey Water, States Works, Guernsey Dairy, Guernsey Waste and Guernsey Ports - which oversees Guernsey Harbours, Guernsey Airport and Alderney Airport.
It will also provide a pool of potential candidates for future non-executive director roles for Aurigny, Guernsey Electricity, Guernsey Post and JamesCo.
Information evening - Thursday 4th April
Anyone interested is finding out more is invited to an information evening on 4th April, in the Colborne Room at the OGH. This will include:-
- Introduction by STSB Vice-President, Deputy Jeremy Smithies;
- Summary of the aims and objectives of the advisers initiative, by STSB non-States Member Stuart Falla MBE;
- Guernsey Electricity Chief Executive Alan Bates and former Guernsey Post chairman Andrew Duquemin will give an insight into their experience of working as part of a company Board.
