Thursday 25 August 2022

Bailiwick children aged 5 to 11 years have until Saturday 3 September to have a first does of the COVID-19 vaccine.

Second doses for this age group will also only be widely available until this date, although limited availability to have a second dose will continue until Saturday 26 November.

The 5 to 11 years COVID-19 vaccination programme has been delivered on a short-term basis in accordance with the guidance from the Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation (JVCI). Some 433 doses have been administered to this age group to date.

There are approximately 60 children that have just had a first dose who are now eligible for their second, and they are being encouraged to come forward for this by Saturday 3 September. Vaccinations for 5 to 11s will be available at Lukis House on Saturday 27 August and Saturday 3 September. Parents and guardians of children wishing a vaccine should book an appointment by calling the Vaccination Contact Centre on 01481 220001.

The Autumn COVID-19 Booster Programme gets underway on Monday 5 September at Raymond Falla House in Burnt Lane, the new location for the Community Vaccination Centre. Second dose for 5 to 11s will still be available every other Saturday afternoon at Raymond Falla House until Saturday 26 November.

Following the latest guidance from the JVCI, the Committee for Health & Social Care has agreed that the following Bailiwick residents will be offered a COVID-19 booster this autumn:

Letters will be sent to those who are eligible for a COVID-19 booster inviting them to make an appointment to attend the CVC at Raymond Falla House or at their normal doctor's surgery. All appointments, whether for Primary Care clinics or the CVC, will be made through the States' Vaccination Call Centre. Details will be included on the invitation letter.
