La Valette Road between the road cutting and the Aquarium will be closed to vehicles on Wednesday 26 and Thursday 27 February 2014.
This is to enable contractors to undertake maintenance work to remove vegetation on rock catch netting through the road cutting on 26 February and through the remainder of the road section on cliff faces including around the Aquarium on 27 February 2014. Only essential and emergency vehicles will be permitted access to the road to the Aquarium during the road closure.
Pedestrian access through the road cutting will not be possible due to safety risks whilst works are in progress but as soon as contractors are clear of this area the road will re-open to pedestrians.
Parking will be available as normal from the Half Moon with space allowed for turning just north of the rock cutting. The Environment Department apologises for any inconvenience caused by this road closure for essential maintenance.
