Fermain Sea Wall - works to reduce damaged wall

Tuesday 12 August 2014

Works to reduce damaged sections of the wall on either side of the breach at Fermain will be undertaken between Wednesday 14th and Friday 16th August 2014. Part of the damaged wall fell a few weeks ago and this will be broken up. The remaining damaged section on the other side of the breach will be taken down; both sets of works will be undertaken with a digger.

The working area will be cordoned off and visitors to the bay are asked to keep well clear of the works for their own safety. Additional signage will be placed at the slipway to advise people of the works over the next three days.

The works will be supervised by States Property Services Engineers undertaken by Bob Froome & Sons Ltd. The digger will be brought in to Fermain from St Peter Port by the Brecqhou Warrior on Wednesday morning.

Repair works on other coastal defences are currently taking priority but SPS Engineers continue to investigate the best options for the wall at Fermain.
