Guernsey Press Enquiry:
I understand from talking St Martin's officials that the department may be preparing a formal comment relating to Petit Port, following the board meeting a few weeks ago. Can you confirm if this is correct and, if so, when it could be sent out?
Environment Department Response:
The Environment Board met on 5 August at which meeting Members supported the carrying out of investigations by the States Property Services Engineers to the undermined slipway at Petit Port. The costs of the remediation works identified by the investigations will then be assessed and funding streams explored. The investigations are planned to take place in September but the date has yet to be confirmed by the Engineers.
The Deputy Environment Minister has recently written to the Constables of St Martin confirming the above and the Constables will be advised of the outcome of the investigations when they become available.
