Monday 21 December 2020

On Saturday Project Sparkle delivered presents to the PEH Campus for all patients who will be in hospital over the Christmas Period.

Project Sparkle is organised by the Leo Club of Guernsey. They provide gift boxes and bags to islanders who are alone at Christmas.

The boxes and bags are made up from donations from individuals and businesses in the Bailiwick.

Sophie Veron of the Leo Club Guernsey said:

'Christmas is not always a positive time of year for islanders in the Bailiwick, particularly those who are in hospital over the festive period.

We hope Project Sparkle can bring some joy to all those patients who are not able to spend time with friends or family this year.'

Deliveries have been organised for all of the long-stay wards in the hospital along with any other patients who will be in hospital over the next two weeks.

Elaine Burgess, Head of Acute Nursing Care said:

'We try and make it as nice as possible for the patients who are in hospital over Christmas. Project Sparkle is guaranteed to bring a smile to the faces of those receiving the gifts and the staff caring for them. I would like to thank the Leo Club Guernsey for the continued support this Christmas.'
