At the Royal Court House at 10:00am the Guernsey Youth Commission in collaboration with the Parliamentary Team held a Youth States Assembly.
The Youth Commission put together a series of three short debates on the topics of the Environment, Inclusivity, and Health and Active Lifestyles, which were considered by 22 members of the Youth Forum for Guernsey and Alderney. These topics had been chosen as a result of a Youth Forum survey that collated the views and opinions of young people across the Bailiwick. The debate was held under conditions that replicated a real States' debate, including called votes and with the sitting presided over by the Bailiff and Deputy Bailiff. This is intended as a pilot for a wider and more developed series of Youth States later in the term.
