Contractors working on behalf of the States will commence road repair works on Monday 11 October between the Crossways and Robergerie junctions of Route Militaire, St. Sampson. This section of road is scheduled to be closed for a period of five weeks, with seven day working in place.
The works will constitute significant repairs to a failing historic trench which is believed to be causing the increasingly rapid deterioration of the road, as well as some patch repairs, kerbing improvements and pavement resurfacing.
These remedial works to repair the failing trench are a priority in order to prevent further damage to the road.
Additionally, the contractor will repair and replace failing service and gully covers and their surrounds.
Traffic & Highway Services (THS) apologises for any inconvenience caused during the course of these works. It is recognised that there have been a number of road closures or traffic management systems in this area over the course of the year which has led to journey delays and THS would like to thank everyone for their patience while these essential works take place to maintain and improve our island's road network.
Motorists are advised to consider alternative transport methods or routes and allow longer times for their journey while these works are carried out.
