Charities can still apply for a small grant for 2022 funding

Monday 17 January 2022

The Social Investment Fund's Small Grants Programme is aimed at charities and non-profit organisations which support Bailiwick residents.

The closing date for applications is Wednesday 26th January so there is still plenty of time to put forward projects, activities or services which need funding.

Under the Small Grants Programme, eligible charities can apply for a grant of up to £25,000 to put towards one-off projects or ongoing expenses of a year's duration, for costs such as salaries or running costs.

The programme is funded using the Guernsey net proceeds of the Channel Islands Lottery. In 2021, £220,000 was distributed to nineteen different charitable organisations, with grants ranging from hundreds of pounds up to the full £25,000.

The funding covers a wide range of areas to benefit people or activities in the Bailiwick of Guernsey. Funding can support charities which assist people with specific needs, disadvantages or vulnerabilities; create employment, education or training opportunities; protect our natural environment, culture and heritage; improve the health and wellbeing of our community; or make our community a more inclusive place to live.

Sadie Siviter de Paucar, Lead Officer of the Social Investment Fund, said:

"We've already received some worthy applications but know that more charities will need support, so we encourage others to come forward to apply. Applications can now be made online and decisions on funding will be made swiftly, with decisions expected in March."

For this programme, SIF works with the Guernsey Community Foundation which provides administrative support in coordinating applications.

Charities can complete and submit an application form online through SIF's new grant application portal. Organisations can review full information about the grants programme, along with the link to the application form at: www.sif.gg//grant-programmes/small-grants-programme You can also contact the Guernsey Community Foundation on grants@foundation.gg or 259523 for any queries about the programme.

Complete applications must be received by 5pm on Wednesday 26th January.

Applications for grants in excess of £25,000 can be made to SIF's Major Grants Programme, which will open again for applications soon. Further information can be found at www.sif.gg.
