Positive developments this afternoon have resulted in many States of Guernsey online services coming back online.
- States of Guernsey websites, such as gov.gg, Guernsey Tickets, Beau Sejour and the Guernsey Registry, are now operating as normal, albeit some final checks are being carried out on payment functionality on gov.gg.
- Schools can now send and receive emails, so parents and carers are advised they can contact schools as needed.
- Flight and harbour information is now available online. Passengers checking in online can pass through security as normal.
- Guernsey Waste is now able to respond to enquiries from members of the public as it can access relevant information.
It is still expected that States of Guernsey IT systems will likely continue to have intermittent issues for much of this week, following a failure of air-conditioning systems in the main server room.
This failure caused the temperature to quickly rise, resulting in the server going into 'preservation mode' to ensure data was protected. While the forced shutdown successfully protected the server itself and safeguarded all data held by the States of Guernsey, it did cause significant performance issues across the States IT network.
We will provide a further update tomorrow (29th November 2022).
