Bailiwick Community Survey 2020

Community survey

The States of Guernsey is carrying out a survey as part of a research project intended to encapsulate experiences of lockdown and the coronavirus pandemic.

This survey asks about the community's experiences over the past three months (both positive and negative) and how they have impacted on wellbeing.

The survey can be accessed online here: and a PDF version is available in the downloads section of this page which can be printed, if required, and returned to: Data & Analysis Team, Sir Charles Frossard House, La Charroterie, St Peter Port, GY1 1FH. Paper copies can also be requested by contacting 07839 121515 or

The survey will be open until 30 July 2020 as we'd like people to complete it while the experience is still fresh in mind. Participation is voluntary and further details on how the data will be protected is provided at the start of the survey.

We would like one person aged 16 or over from each of the household bubbles that were formed in the Bailiwick at the start of lockdown to complete this survey. If there was more than one person aged over 16 in your bubble, please can the next person to have a birthday be the one that completes the survey.

The full survey will take about 1 hour. However, online there is an option to shortcut past some of the more in-depth questions. The shorter route will take about 20 minutes. For a paper copy, you can answer as many as you choose. The survey asks some of the same questions that were asked during the 2018 Wellbeing Survey, so comparisons can be made. It also asks forward-looking questions relating to travel and the Bailiwick's recovery. The data gathered will help us learn and improve and also to inform the recovery strategy.

Alternative language versions are now available here:

Latvian - Kopienas aptauja

Polish - Badanie społeczeństwa

Portuguese - Inquérito à Comunidade

If you have any questions or would like a paper version of this survey, please contact 07839 121515 or
