In 2013 the States approved, in principle, the establishment of an Equality and Rights Organisation subject to the development and approval of a business plan, and having funding and prioritisation in place.
The Committee for Employment & Social Security is currently preparing this business plan in conjunction with various stakeholders.
The Equality and Rights Organisation will have a key role in monitoring compliance with international human rights obligations, and providing education and information for the community on human rights and equality issues.
