Thursday 01 April 2021

Anyone aged over 50 that is yet to have arranged an appointment for their first COVID-19 vaccination is being encouraged to call the Vaccination Call Centre on 01481 707607 to book their appointment. This advice to call and book is regardless of whether over-50s have received a letter or not.

Appointment booking letters have been sent to all over-50s in the Bailiwick that are within the vaccination database. But it is understood that are a significant number of this age group are yet to have been vaccinated. Records suggest that many over-50s will have received a letter but have yet to book their appointment. They are being urged to do so without delay. If there are any letter recipients that do not wish a vaccination, they are also being asked to call so that this preference can be noted to avoid them being sent reminder letters.

Public Health is anticipating that some over-50s may not have received a letter, which could be due to incorrect contact details being held for them. The team would like to apologies for any inconvenience caused by this. But anyone over 50 without a letter should still call now, without delay.

The Vaccination Programme is keen to ensure all over-50s have had their first vaccination before progressing with the next stage of the vaccination roll out for those aged 18-50.

Public Health lead for the COVID-19 vaccination programme, Alex Hawkins-Drew, said:

'Our message is clear, if you are over 50 and have not had your first vaccination, please call now to arrange it as soon as possible. We are making great progress with our vaccination roll out, which is playing such an important role in our route out of the pandemic. We don't want it to lose any pace at this stage due to any delay in vaccinating the last remaining over-50s.'

The Covid Vaccination Centre at Beau Sejour will remain open throughout the Easter Weekend albeit with some changes to clinic times. On Good Friday, Saturday and Easter Monday it will be open from 9.40am to 2pm. On Easter Sunday it will be closed, as is normal on Sundays. The Vaccination Call Centre will be open from 8am to 12pm on Friday, Saturday and Monday but will be closed all day Sunday. There are still some appointments available this weekend.
