    More about the course

The BA (Hons) Social Work Distance Learning degree from Robert Gordon University is designed for someone who has recent and relevant previous experience in a related social care role. It will provide you with the knowledge, values, and skills required to practice as a qualified Social Worker.

This degree gives you the flexibility to balance your learning with work and other life commitments. Designed as a work-based degree, it is delivered through a combination of on-campus learning (up to 2 x 1-week learning blocks at RGU, Aberdeen each year), practice experience and tutor led learning supported by online resources.

There are two entry levels dependent on your existing qualifications and experience. Standard Entry requires 120 Level Four academic credits, and Advanced Entry ordinarily requires a relevant degree. The qualification will lead to professional registration with Social Work England - The Social Work governing body.

As a Social Worker you will have a vital role in society, providing support and protection to people and their families.

In order to be considered for this post you are required to be resident in Guernsey and hold an appropriate permit to enable you to commit to a full-time academic programme.

Upon successful completion of your degree, you will automatically transfer to a full-time permanent Social Worker role within Health & Social Care for a minimum of 3 years post qualifying (as part of your employee sponsorship indemnity).
