The Ordinances give domestic effect to the requirements of Regulation 1.4 (Recruitment and Placement) of the Maritime Labour Convention, 2006 in Guernsey and Alderney from 1 November 2013 and in Sark from 2 November 2015.
The Ordinances establish a system of regulation of agencies, employment businesses and crew administration companies in Guernsey, Alderney and Sark that recruit and place seafarers and any business that undertakes such services will need to be registered under these Ordinances:

Application for registration should be made on the Committee's form (under downloads) and submitted to the address stated together with a non-refundable fee of £180. Applications should be accompanied by an audit report and certificate by a person, body or organisation approved by the Committee certifying compliance with the provisions of Regulation 1.4 of the Maritime Labour Convention 2006.
