The Environment Department is advising that the contractor undertaking the repairs at Petit Port has not been able to obtain the specialised cables for the new rock catch fence as quickly as had been hoped. The cables should be delivered this week and the intention is for Geomarine's rope workers to return to the site at the weekend to complete the work on the catch fence.
Subject to the cable delivery and the remaining works going to plan, the steps to Petit Port should open during the week commencing 20 April 2015.
