The Tourism Management Board is now inviting grant submissions from event and activity providers seeking financial support towards events and activities they are organising for 2024.
Organisers can apply for the annual events and activities grant, totalling £123,000.
For the first time, the Tourism Management Board will oversee the decision-making process for the grant, following the Committee for Economic Development agreeing the Board was best placed to administer the funds thereby putting increased responsibility in the hands of the industry itself.
The Board is looking to support events and activities that will help to deliver on its remit during 2024.
As such, grant awards will only be awarded to organisers who can demonstrate that they meet some or all the criteria set:
- Driving enhanced on-island experience for the visitor and thereby enhancing Guernsey's tourism product.
- Driving incremental visitor growth.
- Promote business or economic development where there is a clear tangible benefit for the local economy.
- Build local entrepreneurial capacity.
The available budget for grant support is limited, and it is the Board's intention to support as many providers as possible with grants.
The deadline for receiving completed application forms for the annual grant is 5pm, Thursday 26th October.
The Board will then meet to review and agree grant allocations week commencing Monday 30th October.
Grant recipients will be required to provide twice-yearly updates and report to the Board.
