Liquor Licensing Section 16 Extension

Please complete this form to apply to extend your licence to additional part of your premises on a permanent basis.

All applications for permanent extension, can be presented to the Tuesday Ordinary Court at 9.45am (applicants need to arrive for 9.30am) without the need to employ an advocate but you can employ one should you wish to. This is for all the unopposed, straightforward applications. If you are also applying for an Al-Fresco licence, please contact the Office of the Committee for Home Affairs on homeaffairs@gov.gg.

A notice of at least 14 days should be provided to the Office of the Committee for Home Affairs to enable the application to be processed.

Once the application is received, an invoice for the application will be issued to the Licensee. Additionally, a copy of the application will be forwarded to the Parish Constables and following payment of their fees, you will be advised of the Court date.

Please note that an incomplete application may cause a delay in the Court appearance.

On completing the form you should receive a pop-up message advising you that your form has been submitted. If you do not receive this message your form may not have been reached us, please contact homeaffairs@gov.gg to check.

Before completing this form, please ensure you read all the tabs below.

  • Documents to be submitted

    • A copy of the plan of the premises (following the requirements listed in the tab below) showing the current licensed area and the area to be licensed as per the application.
  • Submission of Plans

    • When the premises have not previously been licensed, or you intend to change the licensed area, the application must be accompanied by one copy of a plan of the premises meeting the following criteria:-
    • 1.      The plan must be neat, accurately drawn to scale and up to date. An architectural survey is not necessary (unless the circumstances require this);
    • 2.      The plan must clearly show the location and layout of the premises;
    • 3.      The plan must include the detail specified in Rule 2 of the Royal Court (Liquor Licensing) Rules 2006, in a reasonable way, appropriate to the premises concerned. When the premises include residential accommodation, the plan should cover the areas open to the public;
    • 4.      Areas must be indicated as follows:-
    • a.      The boundary of the premises is to be outlined in RED;
    • b.      Where the licence has specified the use of particular areas as a bar, restaurant or café, they must be clearly identified as such;
    • c.       Areas used as a bar must be outlined in GREEN;
    • d.      Any area used as a bar, in respect of which an Under 18's Permit has been granted, must be outlined in BLUE and hatched in BLUE.
    • 5.      The plan must be certified as accurate and signed by the (prospective) Licensee.
  • Fair Processing Notice

    • In order for your application to be processed, the Office of the Committee for Home Affairs will process the personal information submitted on this form. The information that you supply on this form will be shared with the Guernsey Royal Court in preparation for the Royal Court to consider your application. We may share your information with other relevant agencies as may be required in order complete the application process.
