The is part of the Children's Dental Service and was set up in 2022 to offer structured sessions to schools and preschools in line with the PHSE curriculum. We aim to:
- Empower children to want to look after their own teeth by delivering evidence-based information in a fun, interactive way.
- Highlight the importance of regular dental check-ups and what services are available for children on the island.
- Inspire the responsible adults at home, school and other settings to set up environments in a way which supports good dental health.
What we offer
- Classroom-based sessions to Reception, Year 3 and Year 7 (although there is some flexibility depending on the school's need) which fit in with the PHSE curriculum. These focus on providing guidance on hygiene practices and thoughtful diet choices to keep your teeth healthy.
- Fun session in pre-schools and nursery's - these are engaging for the young children but we have found that the responsible adults working in these settings always learn something too.
- Individual sessions to cater for any other groups of children or carers.
