Vehicle width restriction in Rue de Bas is to become permanent

Following a successful trial period, the 6 feet (1.8m) temporary width restriction for motor vehicles using Rue de Bas, St Sampsons, except for those vehicles that need to gain access to premises, will become permanent.

Registering with social security (individuals, including self-employed)

If you are new or have recently returned to the island, you and your family must register with Social Security. Paying contributions gives you and your family insurance protection and the payments entitle you to claim various benefits.

There are two ways you can register with Social Security:

  • In Person

    • You can download and complete a pdf icon registration form [212kb] and bring it in, or you can collect it directly from Edward T. Wheadon House (level 3).
  • By Post

    • You can download and complete a pdf icon registration form [212kb]and post it to us at:
    • Social Security, Edward T. Wheadon House, Le Truchot, St Peter Port, Guernsey, GY1 3WH.
