Wednesday 23 November 2022
Pensioners and those with limited mobility will again be able to view the Christmas lights in St Peter Port by driving through town at set times in December.
As with previous years, Traffic & Highway Services will be allowing motorists of pensionable age or motorists carrying passengers of pensionable age to drive through Smith Street, High Street and Le Pollet to enable them to enjoy the Christmas lights. Motorists holding a valid disabled person's badge or carrying a passenger who holds a disabled person's badge will also be able to do the same.
This access only applies on Sunday, Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday evenings between 6pm and 10pm, from Sunday 27th November 2022 through to Sunday 1st January 2023.
Whilst drivers are permitted to travel in either direction along Smith Street, they must only travel in the direction of the Town Church when driving along Le Pollet or the High Street.
All of the roads listed are subject to a 12mph speed limit.
There is no need to call the Committee's Edward T. Wheadon House office for a permit.
