"Wonderful!" said Helen Hubert, on collecting the top prize of £500. Adding, "I enjoyed completing the survey, it was nice and easy to do. It was eye opening and helpful to see what you spend your money on."
The Survey runs over a 12 month period and over 300 more participants are needed to take part between now and the end of April. You can find out more and volunteer to take part via www.gov.gg/hes. To say thank you to participants for their time, they can choose between a £25 restaurant voucher or a ticket to the final cash prize draw (which will be at the end of May 2019, after the Survey finishes).
The results of the survey are used to update Retail Prices Index (RPI) basket. Changes in the RPI (published on www.gov.gg/rpi) are used to inform tax allowances, social security benefit rates, pension payments, wage negotiations, rental price reviews and maintenance payments, so are relevant to many Islanders. The data collected in the survey is treated in the strictest confidence. The prize winner featured gave their consent to be named.
The survey team is always on hand to respond to enquiries by email hes@gov.gg or by phone on 01481 717188. To find out more or to volunteer to take part (at any time until the end of April 2019) visit www.gov.gg/hes.
